March 3-5th, 2017

Dear Coaches, Gymnasts, and Parents:

We are delighted to have your team attend the 7th Annual Courtney Kupets Pink Gymnastics Invitational! We have had an overwhelming response and therefore had to add a second location. It will be an exciting weekend competition with 2800 gymnasts!!

We have tried our absolute best to accommodate everyone in the meet; we have gymnasts flying in and driving in from 12 states. We need your help as coaches to keep the meet on time and running smoothly. It is imperative that each session be on time so that we do not run past 10pm. Also, some teams have flights that cannot be changed. Thank you for your cooperation.

Please let us know immediately if you have any scratches and we will be able to balance out the squads to everyone’s benefit.

Enclosed is very important information about the meet. It is essential that coaches, gymnasts, and parents be well informed for the meet to run smoothly and on time.

COACHES INFORMATION SHEET

Please read this information carefully. We have had an overwhelming response again this year and therefore had to add a second location. We have 2800 gymnasts! We need your help keeping the meet on time and running smoothly. You must be pro-active and have your gymnasts at the right place at the right time. If we start getting behind in the morning and afternoon, we will run the risk of going past 10:00 pm or teams missing flights. The sessions are seeded to a certain extent. We took into account many factors when scheduling each team.

1. We will have a coaches’ sign table at both meet locations. Bring your USAG and AAU card. All coaches must have a current AAU/USAG and proof of membership, safety certification, background check green light and completed the Gymnastics University 100 course prior to the meet. NO ONE WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE FLOOR WITHOUT PROPER CREDENTIALS! If anything is pending with USAG you must contact them to request permission and provide that proof at the meet.
2. Look carefully at your rotation sheet and know where you need to be.
3. Have your optional floor music turned in immediately Please note that all music must be on a CD or MP3 player marked with Gymnast’s full name and Gym.
4. Help others with equipment. (Mats, springs in boards, bars, etc.)
5. If your gymnast is up first have them prepare to compete rather than be welcomed by the judges. Also, have them get their grips on as Vault is finishing.
6. We will not march in from another area, but stand by your first competitive event for the introduction. Your team will not have time to change leotards during this time. Please be prepared, as the meet will move quickly!
7. In the event of the wrong music being played, you and your athlete need to stop immediately and tell the judge and music personnel.
8. Be prepared to march to your next event quickly. Have your gymnasts line up behind you and follow you. Walk around floor exercise so the next group can start tumbling.
9. Awards (Individual and Team) will follow each session. Your gymnasts must be dressed in either warm-ups or leotards.
10. There will be a trainer at the meet if you need any assistance.
11. All inquiries will be handled between rotations.
12. Every morning session will start with an Introduction of Teams, a Prayer, and the National Anthem.
13. If you have any equipment problems, please tell a meet staff person immediately!
14. Please note all locations of bathrooms or inform your gymnast to go in their room before coming to the competition area.
15. Please make sure that no parents or siblings are on the floor area.
16. Report any in-meet scratches to music/judges/scoring personnel.
17. Check your gymnasts’ ages and sign age group form before the session begins. Once awards start, we cannot go back and change a child’s age group.
18. Spread out during stretch out. Do not try to squeeze everyone onto the floor. *The Bars are AAI Elite Bars with E-Soft rails, please know your bars settings ahead of time if possible.
19. There will be a Coaches’ Table in the Coaches’ Room at both locations.
20. Your gymnast will receive a souvenir from the meet.
21. Look up your sessions carefully ahead of time and let us know if you see any problems.
22. The Gym will be open at 7:30am.
23. Graduating Senior Presentation – All graduating seniors will be recognized and receive a gift immediately after the level 10 session Saturday night. All seniors must be in warm-ups. We need a short bio and three pictures emailed in from coaches about your seniors.
